Human Resources Assistant Manager

Responsibilities 

  • The Human Resource Assistant Manager main responsibilities is to be in alignment with TPG's polices and procedures, along with Marriott/Starwood Brand standards as well as local, state and nation regulations.
  • HR is also responsible for quality service, meeting/exceeding financial and service goals, and managing within approved plans and objectives. 
  • HR reports, investigates and resolves violations to internal controls, policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
  •  The position works closely with the AGM , GM as well as with Corporate HR.

Functions

  • The essential function of the HR Assistant  Manager is Associate/Guest Satisfaction-Manage training and motivate associates to have a positive and effective guest relations skills.
  • Ensure staff compliance with all guest basics such as uniforms, name tages, and proper guest greetings.
  • Regularly review service scores to identify areas needing improvement and implement changes along with the department manager.
  • Be knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services.
  • The HR Assistant Manager is responsible for recruiting and maintaining appropriate staffing levels with qualified individuals.
  • HR is also responsible for tracking, logging all applicants. Implement and manage HR programs in compliance with TPG polices and procedures.
  • Counsel management and staff on associate relations matters, conflict resolution, performance management and terminations as needed. Resolve employee complaints, grievances, conduct exit interviews. 
  • Clearly communicate to associates the standards of performance and there role in contributing to individual team success.
  • Ensure that all department heads have there time edits done daily in a timely matter.
  • Prepare and conduct performance salary reviews along with the GM.
  • Ensure that all entry level reviews are done and processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the work environment is free from harassment.
  • The HR Assistant Manager role is also to walk the operations daily to identify issues and to speak with and listen to associates.
  • Submit recommendations for changes and improvements to AGM.
  • The HR Assistant Manager role is to have a good communication between themselves, AGM and the GM.
  • They are to ensure that open communication is maintained between themselves and all department and associates.
  • They are to maintain a professional and positive attitude when communicating with staff and management approach all encounters and actions with associates in a friendly, service oriented manner.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to proved organizational information and educate associates on changes and activities.

Background/Experience 

  • Posses knowledge of hospitality business, and Human Resource principles and practices.
  • Possess organizational skills that result in accurate, timely and thorough work.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage daily operations even outside the HR area.
  • Ability to appropriately interview, hire, schedule, motive, train, monitor and address staff performance.
  • Ability to compile acts and figures and analyze information which involves data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions. 
  • Ability to anticipate and identify issues and exercise initiative to investigate, interpret and reach logical conclusions and make sound business decisions.
  • Possess strong listening, verbal and written communication skills with professionalism, diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Display consistent professional leadership while simultaneously handling competing and changing priorities and projects.
  • Remain positive, resourceful and possess the ability to improvise while working in a fast-pace environment and dealing with pressure.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate a computer, calculator, phone and other office equipment.
